I don't know if this is possible, but I am building a new mini computer(well building would be probably the wrong word lol) but I was wondering, does windows take very nicely to being installed to a compact flash card or thumb drive? I am prefering XP but if not that, will any windows version. Shall I make that, any OS actually
Thanks

Its possible, but you have to do some hacking to trick the setup into letting you install onto usb which is what the adaptor will be connected by. Ontop of this, if the cards a cheap one, you'll find that the write performance is terrible.

Do you not even have room for a 2.5 drive? The sata ones have the same connections as the bigger 3.5 ones, so you wouldn't have to get any convertors or anything like that.

So yeah, its possible, but I'd try and find another way to go about it.

hi,
well I do have room for normal size drives but i was thinking of possibly an instant on like a notetaker. i know my netbook with the solid state disk doesn't have instant like i thought that was the point of an ssd?
anyway is it possible to have a instant, or nearly instant boot. on that, why doesn't the ssd boot instantly like I've heard claims thats what the purpose of ssd is?
is it possible at all?
